In the tax records of 1851 Brown Twp, Mifflin County is Francis Bilger and Axe maker. (This would not be unusual because the Axe Factory was just a short distance from Reedsville) - Selinsgrove paper.

Nov. 1908 Calvin Bilger and Ammon Keister of Zion Hill visited for a few days with C.O. Walter of Three Rivers and spent their time in Hunting.  On Wednesday night they were successful in catching three coons - McClure P.D..

Minnie Bilger: Funeral service were conducted this afternoon at the Penn Avon Home of her sister, Mrs. Amelia Hendricks with service at the Troxelville Lutheran Church interment in the cemetery at Troxelville.  Mrs. Bilger was the wife of Charles Bilger who died about 16 years ago. She resided at Middleburg most of her life, she was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Daniel Mayer, she was age 62, this was June 5, 1932 - Selinsgrove paper.

Thursday 2-8-1934, Miss Mary Bilger age 74 was buried today, funeral services were held for Miss Mary Bilger of Kreamer, she died Saturday evening.  The services were held from the late home and continued at Erdley’s Church, with interment in the church cemetery.  Born 12-21-1859 in Middleburg the daughter of the late Samuel and Henrietta Bilger, she had lived with her sister Mrs. Lizzie Sauer of Kreamer, and had two brothers, Henry S. Bilger of North Orange St., and Harvey B. Bilger of Winfield - Selinsgrove paper.

Mrs. Rinaldo Bilger, age 53 died at Kreamer, funeral services were held Sunday.  She died May 1935, interment in Globe Mills Cemetery: Mrs. Bilger was Miss Jennie May Kuster of Penn Twp. And was born 5-11-1882, Mr. Bilger died about 5 years ago (1928). Surviving are 2 sons, George of Kreamer and David of Penn Twp. and a daughter, Mrs. Samuel (Ercie) Osgood of Kreamer - Selinsgrove paper.

Mrs. Frank Bilger age 31 of Shamokin Dam, died in the Lewisburg Community Hospital, several days after surgery for a appendicitis.  This was in the 8-6-1935 - Selinsgrove paper.

Isaac Franklin Bilger age 78, succumbed in Kansas, a native of Snyder County, a promoter of various get rich quick schemes, who served a term in Snyder County Jail, died in Goff Kansas of pneumonia.  He was a founder of a Labor paper published in Sunbury during the world war and for a time operated the Northumberland Public Press.  His ventures included promotion of several cooperative industrial projects, in which investors were to be employed.  He was unsuccessful and for the offence he was jailed.  Two brothers and 6 sisters survive. This was in the 4-9-1936 - Selinsgrove paper.

Joel A. Bilger buried at Erdley’s on Sunday.  Funeral services were held Sunday for Joel A. Bilger age 62, who died at his home near Erdley’s Church on Wednesday, following a illness of the past year. Interment was in Erdley’s.  Mr. Bilger was born in Middlecreek Twp., the son of Enos and Jeanette Roush Bilger, on 2-23-1874. He married Molly Ulrich 39 years ago.  Survivors include his sons, Roy E. Bilger and Russell Bilger, both of Kreamer, Norman H. Bilger of R. D. Middleburg, daughters Mrs. Clarence Laudenslager and Blanch Bilger at home and a stepson Oscar Arbogast. Four brothers Jesse J. Bilger of Beaver Springs, Clayton Bilger of Middleburg, Clarence Bilger of Lewisburg, Arthur Bilger of Laurelton and four sisters Mrs. Mary Stroub and Mrs. Katie Bilger of Beaver Springs and Mrs. Ada Bechtel and Mrs. Viola Miller of Akron, Ohio. This was in the Selinsgrove Times on 10-29-1936.

Samuel Bilger found dead in bed Saturday at the North High St. home of his nephew, John O. Bilger and Mrs. Bilger, Saturday morning.  His death was attributed to Heart disease.  Mrs. Bilger had been in ill health for several years. Had he lived until May 8th, he would have celebrated his 80th birthday.  The deceased man was born in Middle Creek Twp. 5-8-1857; he lived on a farm in the Neitz Valley, the greater part of his life and resided with Mr. & Mrs. Bilger the past 2 years, since the death of his wife.  He was the son of Mrs. & Mrs. Joel Bilger.  Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Harry Steffen of Freeburg and one granddaughter. Interment was at Grubbs Church Cemetery. This was in the Thursday 4-30-1937 - Selinsgrove paper.

1940-1949

Mr. and Mrs. John Bilger moved to their new dwelling on E Specht St. this was 1-1940 - McClure P.D.

Aug. 1940 Arthur S. Bilger, Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur S. Bilger of Salem formerly of McClure has been appointed to a position with the state GSA - McClure P.D.

John Bilger of McClure had a gash cut in his head when the axe he was using to cut wood bounced back, hitting him squarely in the middle of the forehead. Feb. 1943 - McClure P.D.

Florine Bilger was among the High School students in May of 1943 to handle applications for sugar to be used for Canning - McClure P.D.

Major Donald Bilger, son of Mr. & Mrs. John Bilger of McClure, a German Prisoner of war for more than a year in a prison camp stalag, near Berlin, was freed when the Allied Armies freed thousands of American prisoners. May 1945 - McClure P.D.

Bilger born 11-15-1878, died 7-19-1946 age 67 years 8 months and 4 days of Juniata County, he was a male, white and single, his father was Jackson Bilger and his mother Sarah Bilger, this was certified by Elwood E. Bilger - Selinsgrove paper.

June 1949, John N. Bilger, Jr. of McClure has enlisted in the Navy for a period of three years.  A going away party was held for him at the home of his friend, Glenn Stricker, present were Joan Lepley, Barbara Goss, Joan Good, Myrietta McGalaughlin, Sally Wagner, Beverly Bubb, Nelson Kline, Jack Morgan, John Dean, Jr. Richard Dean, Kenneth Wagner, Kenneth Lawver, Harold Renninger, Gerald Goss, Ronald Bowersox, Glen Stricker and John Bilger Jr - McClure P.D.

Jesse J. Bilger age 64 of Beaver Springs died 7-19-1949 - McClure P.D.

Charles Getz, age 86 of Beaver Springs died on 7-15-1949 - McClure P.D.

Jan. 1950 Miss Ann Marie Bilger d/o Mr. & Mrs. Marlin Bilger or McClure had her tonsils removed - McClure P.D.

Dec. 1950- John N. Bilger of McClure was the first one to report having killed his buck deer on Wednesday morning opening day for the taking of antlered deer.  Mr. Bilger bagged a 6-point on Shade Mountain area at 7:45 am or just 15 minuets after the season opened - McClure P.D.

March 19, 1951 Mr. and Mrs. Ira Bilger of Troxelville live in the home previously owned by Roy Napp - McClure P.D.

Mrs. Charles Gross (Annie Bilger Gross), 83 of Beaver Springs died Oct. 25, 1953, age 83 - McClure P.D.

Mrs. W. David Bilger buried at Globe Mills: Mrs. Magdalene Bilger widow of W. David Bilger of Kreamer died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Samuel a. Osgood, in Kreamer, Thursday from the effects of a stroke.  Mrs. Bilger was born 8-4-1847; the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Foltz of Middle Creek Twp., surviving are sons George Bilger of Kreamer and David of R.D. Selinsgrove, interment at Globe Mills - Selinsgrove paper.
