Welcome to our "home" on the internet! No matter what family branch
you belong to, please take time to read our story. It is one part
genealogy, one part history, a lot of family and we simply want to share
this story with like-minded folk! The Bilger Family Web Page is intended
to help bring us all together through the power of the internet, but old
fashioned word of mouth doesn't hurt either. We are just as eager
to hear your story as well, so please feel free to contact those people
where email links are provided or send them a letter at the addresses listed.
So pull up a comfortable chair and enjoy but be sure to visit often as,
like the picture, we're never quite finished! (photo

While this website discusses the descendants of John George Adam
Bilger and John Henry Bilger, my own ancestor, the other branches of the
Bilger family originating from the other children of Johann Ludwig and
Maria Magdelena Bilger are welcome and encouraged to contact me or Alan
Bilger (Please send anything specific to the web page itself to Alan).
We may be contacted either by the addresses below:
Alan Bilger, 128 Sunny Lane, Tiffin Ohio 44883-3372 or by email:
Dennis Bilger, 605 Vassar, Independence, MO 64054-1757 or by email:
We are anxious to receive new information about the Bilgers . We
have very little information about the descendants of George Ludwig Bilger
and his sisters Maria Magdelena Bilger, wife of John Philip Wentz and Charlotte
Bilger, wife of Melchoir Schmidt (Smith). It may be surmised that the Bilgers
living in Bucks County descended from this George Ludwig Bilger, the youngest
son on Johann Ludwig Bilger, although this is not certain. I am also
particularly interested in any substantial proof that Henry Bilger and
Catherine Reedy Bilger were the parents of Jesse and William N. Bilger
and any information about what happened to the children of Jesse Bilger
after he was killed at the Battle of Petersburg in the Civil War.
(In the recent past both Dennis and I may have failed, either through a
glitch in our software or a computer malfunction, to receive or respond to
email. If for whatever reason you fail to receive a response within a week
or two of having sent it, please do not misconstrue this as a lack of interest
on either of our part. Rather we ask that you either try to send the email
a second time or attempt to contact the other person listed. Please don't
give up, as we really want to hear from you!)
Reunions
(Anyone from other Bilger or related branches are cordially
welcome to attend either of the reunions listed below. It is customary to
provide your own table service and one food dish. Lastly, if you have your
own Bilger reunion, you are more than welcome to post it here for others to
see!)
